Random Weave Workshop with Jugan Dandii
Enjoy a restorative and creative weekend exploring the free-form art of random weave. This accessible technique uses natural fibres foraged from gardens and bushland to create unique decorative and functional pieces, from vessels and baskets to light shades and sculptural forms.
Over two days, participants will learn how to collect and prepare easily sourced weaving materials, and experiment with a variety of fibres and construction methods. All tools and materials are provided, and the workshop welcomes all skill levels.
Led by Jugan Dandii – Nyangbal, Bundjalung woman Aunty Tania Marlowe and fibre artist/educator Debra Cole – the workshop draws on over a decade of shared practice. The duo are passionate about empowering individuals and communities through woven arts, fostering creativity, wellbeing, and connection to Country, culture and community.
The event takes place at Ignite Studios, a wheelchair-accessible venue. Please contact the gallery in advance for specific accessibility requirements.
